Arthritis Blood Profile

Arthritis is an inflammatory condition of bones and joints characterized by severe pain and joint swelling. Many autoimmune disorders can cause arthritis e.g. SLE, Rheumatoid arthritis, vasculitis etc. It can also be associated with non-autoimmune conditions like gout. An arthritis profile is a series of blood tests performed to assess the levels of various inflammatory and routine parameters in the blood that may aid the diagnosis of arthritis.

What does arthritis profile test measure?
CBC and Routine Urine Examination is done. Apart from this the Arthritis Profile test measures the ESR, CCP, CRP, ANA, Uric Acid, ASO, RA levels in the blood.

Who should get arthritis profile test done?
People with the following symptoms:

• Frequent joint pain and stiffness.
• Severe early morning pain and stiffness [mainly in the small joints of hands and feet]
• Visible signs of inflammation in the joints.
• Those with a family history of RA/Arthritis.
